Heavyweight champion: WWE legend Levesque warns Anthony Joshua on Fury fight
Anthony Joshua has been warned that Tyson Fury is untouchable as the domestic rivals gear up for their mega-fight.
Heavyweight champion Fury was expected to come out of retirement and face Oleksandr Usyk – who beat Joshua for the second time last month – in an undisputed clash at the end of this year.
Those plans have been sidelined after Usyk opted to take time away from the ring, with Fury now offering Joshua the chance to become a three-time champion by fighting for his WBC title.
Joshua accepted a deal proposed by Fury’s team, which is understood to be a 60/40 purse split in Fury’s favour, as the pair are set to meet at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on December 3.
WWE legend Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has now issued his prediction on the fight, as he expects ‘The Gypsy King’ to hand Joshua his third consecutive defeat by stopping him inside eight rounds.
“From a boxing standpoint, I don’t think anyone right now can touch Tyson Fury,” he told iFL TV. “His size, strength and skill set that he has is unmatched. I think Tyson Fury comes out on top. Is that a match I want to see? Absolutely, I can’t wait to see it. If it’s at all possible, I will be sitting there watching in person because that’s a blockbuster. If I had to make a prediction, Tyson Fury on top. Maybe in eight rounds.”
Joshua is just a signature away from securing his title clash against long time rival Fury as the champion’s promoter Frank Warren revealed ‘AJ’ was sent a fight contract last week.
