Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of punishing him while he was governor of Lagos State.

He went on to say that it was not a personal punishment, but rather an action taken against Lagos State because he was a member of the opposition party.

Tinubu mentioned the Enron power project and accused the Obasanjo administration of sabotaging his efforts to solve the challenges of electricity supply when he was governor of Lagos.

He spoke during the APC presidential campaign rally in Benin, Edo State.

He said: “I brought Enron to solve electricity problem and help Lagos economy but Obasanjo and PDP frustrated it. They punished me and Lagos people and even began deducting our money. “They punished me as Lagos State governor, not personal punish (sic) but the entire Lagos State was punished.”
