Why Makinde, Wike, Others Were ‘Humilaited’ In Oyo – Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has explained why five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors were ‘humiliated’ in Oyo State.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the PDP’s disgruntled governors, popularly known as the G5, received a rude awakening from party supporters in Ibadan, Oyo State, during a campaign rally on Thursday.

The G5 governors, Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State), Samuel Ortom (Benue State), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu State), were in Oyo State for the launch of Seyi Makinde’s re-election campaign.

During the rally at Mapo Hall, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike told the crowd to vote for Makinde and other PDP candidates in the upcoming election, but for the presidency, he said the Governor would address the crowd.

However, when he failed to mention the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as one of those the crowd should vote for, chants of ‘Atiku, Atiku, Atiku’ filled the air.

On Twitter, Omokri reacted by saying that the G5 governors were disgraced in Ibadan because of the popularity of the PDP flagbearer.

According to the controversial author, the former Vice President is popular in the state due to his lifetime of service to all Nigerians, regardless of region or religion.

Omokri went on to say that Atiku is the only Presidential candidate who has a national following and a network of friends in every corner of Nigeria.

He wrote:

Day 88 of #WhyShouldIVoteAtiku: Vote for Waziri Atiku Abubakar because he is for the Nigerian people, and the Nigerian people are for him. That is why Governor Wike and his Personal Assistants, who call themselves Governors, could not convince Ibadan people not to vote for Atiku.

To their utter surprise, shame and confusion, when they shouted PDP, the Ibadan crowd spontaneously shouted Atiku, Atiku, Atiku. They tried to play some music, but the crowd crescendoed Atiku, Atiku, Atiku. And Wike went back to Port Harcourt knowing that Ibadan people never bow to dictators.

But, ask yourself why Waziri Atiku is so popular in Oyo State. It is because of a lifetime of service to all Nigerians irrespective of region and religion.

No other Presidential candidate has that National spread and network of friends in every nook and cranny of Nigeria. Waziri Atiku Abubakar will never have an empty stadium in Kogi or Ekiti, and he will never be booed in Niger State. He is a man for all Nigerians.

That is why I invite you and your families and friends to please vote for Waziri Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party on Election Day, Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Please join me for another reason to vote Atiku tomorrow, God sparing my life.
