World Cup: Netherlands become first team to qualify for quarter-final as USA crash out

Netherlands, on Saturday evening, became the first team to qualify for the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup after beating USA 3-1.

The match was played at the Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar.

Barcelona forward Memphis Depay opened the scoring for the Netherlands before Daley Blind doubled the lead for Louis van Gaal’s side before half-time.

However, Haji Wright scored for the USA in the 76th minute but Denzel Dumfries increased the lead for the Netherlands in the 81 minutes as the match ended 3-1.

The outcome of the match means the Netherlands advanced to the World Cup last-8, while the USA are now out of the tournament.
